There have been times where I have accidently picked up a heavy weight thinking it was a light one and did my exercise all the way through until the end without noticing? Is that an indication that I am mentally holding myself back during a normal exercise?

It sounds to me that you are being held back by your self-limiting beliefs. I would strongly encourage you to look back in your life story and see where these beliefs started and how they are just that, bullshit stories, they don’t serve you. ask yourself, what if I were to destroy these limiting beliefs…what new opportunities would show up in my life…how much more joy would I have…how much more would I accomplish.. who else would benefit?
